It’s all so hard on my head
It’s all so hard on my head
I don’t know where to
Start all over again
Each time I pick myself up
I get my teeth kicked in
So I took a step back
To steel my resolve
It seems the higher I climb
The further I fall
You aren’t always right
But I’m not always wrong
I want to take flight
That’s why I’m singing this song
I can’t ever win
Things keep on bringing me down
If I keep on crying
I know that I will drown
All of this is just too
Hard on my head
Some days I don’t even know
Why I get out of bed
Can somebody tell me
How many times I will lose
There has to be a better way
No more emotional abuse
I am so tired of beating
My head on the wall
I keep spinning my wheels
But the engine is stalled
You aren’t always right
But I’m not always wrong
I want to take flight
That’s why I’m singing this song
I can’t ever win
Things keep on bringing me down
If I keep on crying
I know that I will drown
It’s all so hard on my head
Hard on my Head was written in 2011, as a part of a songwriting workshop at UNB. It was a bit hard, as I had 6 weeks to write an original song, so I had to work on it, it didn’t just start like the others did. New Country style would be good for this one. It’s how I hear it.
