Anymore

Anymore

The jagged edges of my broken heart are sharp

The breakup left me raw

My love for you is torn

And I don’t know what to do with myself

Anymore

Love is like a crystal vase

Beautiful and whole

It sparkles and it shines

But it is fragile

When  the threads of the silk of love unravel

Trust is gone

I am shattered

And I don’t know what to do with myself

Anymore

Loneliness is hard

I grow cold

Frigid in my soul

Aimlessly drifting

When you weren’t looking I fell to the ground

You said goodbye

You walked away

And I don’t know what to do with myself

Anymore

My tender heart will heal in time

When the pain

Subsides

I will be numb

Maybe I will love again

But not today

The cut is too deep

And I don’t know what to do with myself

Anymore

Some day when I am over you

Someone will cross my path

If they are careful they can

Stitch the  jagged edges of my heart

Back together

And I don’t know what to do with myself

Anymore

The jagged edges of my broken heart will mend…

Anymore came out of nowhere, I have not experienced anything like what I wrote in this song lyric. The first line is where it started, and it needed to be written. It is poetry, but I hear an ebb and flow sound when I think of the words. Not quite haunting, more melancholy.
